We were incredibly fortunate to welcome Marc Rowland, a nationally recognised expert on the Pupil Premium and improving outcomes for disadvantaged learners, to the Trust in November 2025 for a twilight session.

Marc has worked extensively with the Department for Education, the Jersey government, local authorities and over 500 schools to develop strategies that raise attainment, including supporting the successful introduction of the Jersey Pupil Premium. He currently advises the Unity Schools Partnership and works with the Education Endowment Foundation’s Research School Network on national training and programmes focused on educational disadvantage. An experienced speaker, Marc has addressed thousands of school leaders across the country and has contributed to significant research and reviews on Pupil Premium. He is also a respected author.

The event was very well attended by teaching staff and teaching assistants, reflecting the strong commitment across our schools to this important work. 

Marc’s expertise and insight have formed the foundation of our Pupil Premium Strategy for 2025 – 2026, helping to shape a clear and ambitious approach across the Trust. We are delighted that his support continues, with visits to individual schools further strengthening practice and impact.
